Red Light Cameras.....Safety or Revenue?

Hello All,

As some of you may know, NJ is beginning to install red light cameras at more locations.  There is quite a controversy about this....does it really reduce accidents or is it a way for municipalities to revenue generate especially in these tough economic times.  Check out the link below for an interesting article on the subject:

Headlight Cleaning

Hello All,

My wife has a 2004 Passat Station Wagon.  I don't drive it that often but last month we took a trip to Pittsburgh to drop our daughter off at school and I noticed on the way back that I really could not see very far ahead while driving at night.  Checking the headlights it was very apparent that the lenses were clouded over with oxidation.  I was a little leary about the effectiveness of these packaged headlight cleaning systems, but being a frugal person and not wanting to replace the entire light assemblies, I thought I would give it a try.  I was amazed at how well the system worked!  No kidding my light beams extend at least twice the distance that they did before, and I only used a portion of the kit.  I did this several weeks ago and so far the lenses have remained clear.  With that in mind I have added a new Cleaning Products selection to my products page.  Check out the headlight cleaning kits and a few other items that I have included as well. Pets In The Car

Hello All,

Hope you are having a great summer!!!  I was driving home the other day and noticed a big chocolate Lab riding in the passenger seat of a pickup truck with his head sticking way out of the window.  His ears were flapping and he was barking at the other cars that had dogs in them.  A little while later I as I got closer to home I noticed an SUV coming out of a drugstore parking lot with a Jack Russell sitting on the drivers lap.  I'm sure you have all seen this as well, but did you know that New Jersey has a pet restraint law that requires pets to be seat belted or in a pet carrier that is secured.  I didn't know this but apparently this is a law that has been on the books for many years but has recently been getting more attention by law enforcement.  The fine for an unrestrained pet ranges from $200 - $1000....ouch!!

I agree that unrestrained pets, especially the ones sitting on drivers laps are a driving distraction that can lead to disasterous conseqeunces.  Remember that in an accident, anything that is unrestrained is going to continue moving inside the car cabin at road speed.  I've added a Pets catagory to my products page where you can find harnesses and restrains for your four footed family member.

Have a great a safe second half of the summer!!!
